We love range tests, especially thorough ones. This one, by InsideEVs US gives the BMW iX a run at 70 mph to see how much its battery would last.

The model they tested is the BMW iX xDrive 50, which has a 105.2kWh usable battery, 385kW (523 hp) of power, and 765nm of torque through electric motors on both axles. This car's WLTP range is 611km, while its EPA range with the 20-inch wheels is 521 km (324 miles).

InsideEVs US ran the car at 70 mph (around 112km/h) in regular traffic, and the iX was able to go an entire 555km (345 miles), which is about 6% better than the EPA rating. It seems BMW may undersell its EV's EPA rating a bit, possibly to spare new buyers the disappointment of getting lower than expected results.

Here's the entire video, in which Inside EVs US gives middle-of-the-range results and analysis.
