Interior of Li Auto L8 unveiled in spy shots shows similarities to Li L9

Planned for November this year, the launch of the Li L8 is nearing and with the test cars out on the streets we start getting more and more spy shots revealing the car’s details. The latest batch purportedly shows the interior of the upcoming Li L8.

No surprises there - in fact, the interior appears to be so similar to the one from the larger Li L9 that it is difficult to tell the two apart. Starting with the identical steering wheel with its own small display, two large side-by-side screens, identical air vents under those screens and center console.

In the next photo we manage to see a glimpse of the door and again - it appears the same as the one on the L9. The door handle, the speaker to the front of it and the window switches are also unchanged.

The final photo reveals the rear two seats, suggesting the spied car has the six seat layout. There is a console between the front seats with dedicated air-con controls and the fridge for the rear passengers and yet again, it appears to be identical to the one on the L9.

That final photo revealed actually quite a big difference between the two cars. Since the L8 will be shorter than the L9 we can clearly see the legroom difference. There is still a lot of space in the back of the L8, but it is significantly less than in the L9 and the rear seats do not fold flat or offer the extendable footrest.

Li L8 is officially going to replace Li Auto’s first offering - the Li ONE which is an EV with petrol powered range extender. Li Auto will stop manufacturing the Li ONE in October in preparation for the launch of L8.

L8 is about the same size as the outgoing Li ONE, but has a much bigger wheelbase, thanks to the fact that it doesn’t need room in the front for the combustion engine. L8 will be available in a 5 and 6 seat configuration and it will come in Pro and Max trims just like its bigger sibling.

Li Auto ensured existing owners of the Li ONE that despite the model being discontinued, the support and servicing will not be affected and will continue for years to come.
