Google Maps adds EV routing on Android Auto
Today, Google has announced that it's bringing Google Maps' AI-powered EV charging features to over 350 car models that support Android Auto.
This lets Google Maps recommend when and where to charge based on your EV's model and battery level, "reducing anxiety and the need to juggle multiple apps", the company says.

You can add your specific EV to Google Maps, and once you've done that, when you set a destination in the car you can see your expected battery usage. If you also add your current charge level, you can see recommended charging stops, the estimated battery level when arriving, and an updated ETA based on charging time.
Google uses AI, advanced energy models that analyze car details like weight and battery size, and Maps' real-time information about traffic, road elevation and weather, to deliver this functionality. Intelligent trip-planning is coming to "most US EVs" soon, according to Google.
