Nio rolls 300,000th car off the assembly line
Nio has hit a milestone today as it rolled out its 300,000th EV off the assembly line. It happened to be a blue ET5 sedan made at Nio's NeoPark factory.
It took Nio 4 years and seven months after it built its first vehicle in May 2018.
Speed is definitely picking up, though, as Nio celebrated its 200,000th produced vehicle on April 26 and it achieved its 200,000th delivered vehicle the next month, on May 15.
Nio has delivered a total of 273,741 as of November 30, while in 2022, the maker added three new models, based on the second-generation NT2 platform - the ET7, ES7, and ET5.
Nio claims credit for the increase in EV demand in China, citing a jump in EV market penetration from 5.9% in 2019, to 27.4% in November of this year. Nio also lays claim to 70% of the premium EV market in China - that's EV's priced above CNY 400,000.
