Tesla opens up its Superchargers in Italy for non-Tesla EVs

Since the start of this year, Tesla has been slowly expanding its program to give Supercharger access to non-Tesla EVs. This week, Tesla is opening up its chargers in Italy. From now on, 18 Supercharger stations in the country can be used by everyone, not just Tesla owners.

Italy is just one of the countries participating in the program. From January until now, Tesla granted access to select Supercharge stations in countries like Germany, Holland, Spain, the UK, Norway, Denmark, Luxembourg, Iceland, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria and Finland. Essentially, Tesla's Superchargers cover most of Europe and are available to non-Tesla users.

Keep in mind that this is still a pilot program as Tesla said it wanted to monitor the traffic in these stations, so it can give a better experience to all EV users. Hence why not all Superchargers are open in those regions. Notably, Tesla is going to do that for North America starting next year.
