Zeekr 007 and 007 GT get power upgrades for 2026

The Chinese MIIT had a busy week processing applications from automakers for refreshed cars coming to the market in the next couple of months. Among the many filings, we found an application from Zeekr for the updated Zeekr 007 sedan and its sporty sibling, the 007 GT station wagon. These two cars are already popular thanks to their futuristic looks, and the latest refresh focuses on what is happening beneath the metal.

The headline news for both EVs is the big jump in performance. For the rear-wheel-drive models, the single electric motor now pushes out 370 kW, which translates to 496 hp. This is a stout 80 hp increase over the previous version. If that is not enough to get your heart racing, the all-wheel-drive version takes things to a different level. By adding a second motor, the total output climbs to 585 kW (784 hp). That is a massive 148 hp jump compared to the older model.

Zeekr also gave the cars a smarter "brain." The updated models feature the NVIDIA DRIVE Thor-U chip. This advanced piece of tech handles the vehicle's driving assistance systems. It is designed to process massive amounts of data in real-time, making features like automated lane changes and parking much smoother. To keep all this tech running efficiently, the cars now use a 900V high-voltage architecture. This system not only supports the high power output but also allows for incredibly fast charging times.

When it comes to the exterior, the changes are more subtle. The Zeekr 007 GT station wagon keeps its sleek, long-roof look with only tiny changes to its size. It measures 191.3 inches to 192.1 inches in length, depending on the trim, and stands 56.9 inches to 57.5 inches tall. The width stays the same at 74.8 inches, and it sits on a long 115.2 inches wheelbase. These dimensions give the wagon plenty of road presence while keeping that sporty "shooting brake" silhouette that fans of fast wagons love.

The standard Zeekr 007 sedan also saw some minor nips and tucks. If the MIIT listing is correct, it is actually a tiny bit shorter than before - the wheelbase has been trimmed slightly by 0.12 inches down to 115.2 inches, though you would likely need a ruler to notice the difference. To make it look a bit meaner, Zeekr added new air vents to the lower bumper. For those who want their car to look like a race car, a carbon fiber kit is now available, adding lightweight accents to the front of the car, the sides, and the rear spoiler.

Rolling stock is equally impressive. Both the sedan and the wagon offer a choice between 19-inch and 20-inch rims. The tires are sized at 245/45 R19 or a wider 255/40 R20 for better grip. This extra rubber is necessary, given the massive torque these two electric cars now produce. Whether you are driving the RWD or the AWD version, the goal is clearly to put all that power down.

The Zeekr 007 GT is expected to stay in a similar price range to the current models, which sit between RMB 202,900 and RMB 232,900. That is roughly £21,300 to £24,500. The standard Zeekr 007 sedan offers more variety with four trims, typically priced from RMB 209,900 to RMB 299,900, or about £22,100 to £31,400. For that price, you are getting a car that can travel between 364 miles and 541 miles on a full charge, depending, of course, on the battery and motor setup you choose.
