BYD Denza Z9 sedan is now official with 100 kWh battery, 3.4-second sprint
At the Guangzhou Auto Show today, BYD's Denza finally took the wraps off the Z9 sedan, a car it's been teasing for a while. It will slot into Denza's roster alongside the Z9GT hatchback which arrived in September.
The Z9 starts at CNY 354,800 ($49,000) just like the Z9GT. It's 203.9 inches long, 78.3 inches wide, and 59.8 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 123 inches.
The Z9 comes with a tri-motor setup. There's a 230 kW front motor and two at the rear with 240 kW of peak power. This setup allows the car to go from zero to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds.
The battery is made by BYD itself of course, and has a capacity of 100 kWh. Its CLTC range is rated at 391 miles but as usual we must caution you to take this number with a huge dose of skepticism, as the CLTC ratings are well known to be the most optimistic out there.
