BYD shares images of upcoming Yuan Up compact SUV
BYD teased the upcoming Yuan Up on its official Weibo, sharing six images of the car.
The Yuan Up is based on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 and is a compact SUV with sporty and youthful styling.
BYD says the Yuan Up is an A0 segment EV, which should mean a compact car with a sub-2.7 meter wheelbase.
According to a leaked regulatory filing, the Yuan Up measures 169.7 inches in length, 72 inches in width, and 65.9 inches in height with a wheelbase of 103.1 inches. There are three weight options - 3,153 lb, 3,351 lb, and 3,395 lb.
Rumor has it, the Yuan Up will have a single motor with two power options - 70 kW (94 hp) and 130 kW (174 hp) - and a maximum speed of 99 mph. Expect a maximum range of 401 km.
Finally, dealers will reportedly pay RMB 120,000 ($16,700), RMB 125,000 ($17,500), and RMB 130,000 ($18,200) for the BYD Yuan Up, which means the price for regular customers will be slightly less than that.
