Fisker teases Ocean Extreme Monterey Edition

Fisker officially unveiled its latest creation, the Fisker Ocean Extreme Monterey Edition. Named after the picturesque coastal region in Northern California it is set to be available for customer orders in the latter half of 2024.

The Ocean Extreme Monterey Edition will be the new top tier of Fisker Ocean lineup, sitting above the Extreme, Ultra, and Sport trim levels. It comes with the so-called Sun Soaked metallic gloss paint option, which "exudes a warm, coppery, mineral tone that is sure to stand out on the road" according to Henrik Fisker, the CEO of the company.

This will be complemented by color-accented details on the wheels and in the interior. Fisker has also committed to using recycled materials in crafting the interior.

One notable addition is the SolarSky roof, a feature that promises to add approximately 1,500 miles of range per year, or just over four miles per day. In reality its contribution will likely be far lower.

The dashboard gets brown wooden panels, reminiscent of the Fisker Alaska pickup truck. The seats have a new color scheme with creamy and brown shades, and new perforated texture seating materials for added comfort. The finishing touches include elegant embroidering displaying the letter "M" on the headrests and a distinctive "MONTEREY" emblem on the rear.

While Fisker gave us a glimpse of what's to come, we are yet to learn the pricing details and production volumes. The company promises to fill us in in over the coming months.

I really do like the Ocean, but would never by one simply because of service/insurance/spare parts concerns. Unless you live in California, or Fisker is able to open some regional service centers, steer clear of these.

In person, these are ugly, overpriced cars that try too hard and thus sell 1 car for every 10000 Model Ys, and you wonder about who is the schmuck who chose a Fisker.
