IM Motors updates the LS7 SUV with new motors and features
IM Motors, part of SAIC Motor, released the LS7 full-electric SUV in February 2023 and is now giving it an upgrade. However, the upgraded model phases out three variants, and now only the Ultra trim remains available. This is likely IM Motors' response to Xiaomi's upcoming YU7 SUV expected later this month.
The new LS7 is offered only in AWD configuration with two electric motors. The one on the front axle produces 200 kW maximum output, while the rear-mounted motor is capable of 379 kW output. The motors are powered by a 100 kWh battery, which is enough for 435 miles range, according to the ever-optimistic CLTC.
Charging this big battery doesn't take long either. It can go from 10 to 80% in under 17 minutes.
The cockpit is powered by an IMOS 3.6.0 infotainment system with integrated DeepSeek LLM.
The vehicle is available for RMB 339,000 (£35,900), but those who order it before the end of next month will get a RMB 10,000 discount.
