Svolt's 100 kWh semi-solid-state battery enters mass production

Svolt, which is technically an independent battery manufacturer, but is closely tied to GWM, announced that its semi-solid-state battery has entered mass production. The pack has a 100-kWh capacity and is compatible with 900-volt architectures.

Svolt named its hybrid battery Dragon Armor and makes use of three chemical systems, which the company believes is the long-term technological path. Thanks to a new production tech involving cell-level packaging during production that improves charging safety, the battery supports 6C charging speeds. This means it can add 500 km of range in just 12 minutes.

Speaking of safety, Svolt boasts the battery's ability to withstand impact. According to the safety data, the battery has three times the level of impact protection compared to the official standard imposed by the Chinese government.

In theory, the battery should be good for at least 1 million kilometers, achieved by 3,000 charging cycles.
