Tesla Cybertruck charging curve improvements are coming

Tesla's Cybertruck will soon get a software update that will improve its fast charging curve, and in a pretty significant fashion. Right now, the Cybertruck is pretty conservative when drawing power from a DC fast charger, but that's set to change.

Tesla at the moment estimates you can get up to 136 miles of range in just 15 minutes of charging. However, following the aforementioned update, you will get 154 miles of range in the same 15 minutes, so we're looking at an improvement of around 13% here. The information comes straight from the horse's mouth, as they saying goes - Drew Baglino, Tesla's SVP of Powertrain and Energy posted this information over on X.

It's still unclear when to expect the update to become available, with Baglino only mentioning "later this quarter". That could mean any time frame up to the end of June, so it may be more than just a few weeks.

Still, it's great to see the company actively working on improving things like the charging curve once the vehicle has already launched - this is one of the huge benefits of over-the-air software updates for cars.
