VW reveals the ID. Polo's most important specs, shows it in camo
VW has revealed more details about the upcoming ID. Polo, alongside images showing it in camouflage. So let's dive right in.
The new Polo EV will be offered starting in spring 2026 with three power outputs: 85kW (116PS), 99kW (135PS), and 155kW (211PS). The ID. Polo GTI with 166kW (226PS) will follow later next year.
The 85kW and 99kW motors will be paired with a 37kWh LFP battery, supporting DC fast charging up to 90kW. The 155kW and 166kW versions of the Polo will come with a 52kWh NMC battery that will charge at up to 130kW DC and will enable a range of up to 280 miles.
All of the ID. Polo options come with a front motor only. They also all get Travel Assist, the system which "can enable assisted lateral and longitudinal guidance and assisted lane changes on motorways", VW says. It can also recognize traffic lights and stop signs.
The ID. Polo is 159.6 inches long, 71.5 inches wide, 60.2 inches tall, and has a wheelbase of 102.4 inches. VW says that its exterior dimensions are similar to those of the last Polo, but this one offers an extra 0.75 inches of interior space, "particularly noticeable in the rear". The boot/trunk capacity is 15.4 ft³, which goes up to 43.9 ft³ with the rear seats folded. The ID. Polo will only be offered with five seats and four doors.
The ID. Polo is currently being tested "in numerous regions worldwide", according to VW, in order "to achieve the highest quality and perfection in detail". It is going to start at $29,300.
