2027 Chevrolet Bolt official teaser images are out

GM has been teasing the next-generation Chevrolet Bolt for a very long time now, and today it's back with our first official glimpses at the EV.

The teaser images don't show the car in its entirety from any angle, as you may expect - we're sure more teasers will be released in the future and we'll slowly get the full picture.

In the meantime, we can feast our eyes upon half of its front, a taillight, the NACS charging port, and a shot of one of the wheel options.

It's not much, but it is something. Chevrolet says the Bolt is "almost" back, with more details coming "in a few months".

The new Bolt is launching as a 2027 model year, which most likely means it will become available at some point in 2026.

The original car was released in 2017, and Chevy proudly claims that it "changed the game as the first long-range, mass-produced EV available to customers at a truly affordable price", but obviously the accuracy of that statement hinges on your definition of "long-range".

Production of the original ended in December of 2023, so the new car has definitely taken its sweet time coming. Hopefully that means GM has perfected the formula and improved the Bolt in all the ways people were asking for, while ensuring it stays true to its predecessor's strengths. Only time will tell, of course.
