Avatr 07 debuts at Chengdu Auto Show

Avatr just introduced its newest star - the Avatr 07. Unveiled at the 2024 Chengdu Auto Show, this midsize SUV is now available for pre-orders now open with deliveries expected sometime this month.

The Avatr 07 offers fully electric and range-extended powertrain options. The fully electric model, available in rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations, promises a CLTC range of 404 miles and 379 miles, respectively.It's built on an 800 V architecture, and the all-wheel-drive variant can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in a brisk 3.9 seconds, proving electric cars can be both efficient and exciting.

For those who crave the flexibility of a longer range, the range-extended version, equipped with a 1.5 turbocharged engine, is a compelling alternative. It comes in two flavors - a single rear motor with 231 kW or a dual-motor setup with an additional 131 kW at the front. Both versions have a 39.05 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, offering an all-electric range of up to 143 miles.

The Avatr 07 measures 190 inches in length, 78 inches in width, and 63.8 inches in height, with a wheelbase of 115.7 inches. The rear design is a blend of classic SUV aesthetics and modern touches, highlighted by sleek, narrow tail lights.

The interior features a massive 35.4-inch 4K display, dual 6.7-inch electronic side mirror screens, and a central Huawei intelligent control screen. Nappa leather seats, an Alcantara headliner, and natural wood accents on the center console create a premium ambiance.

The 07 comes with Taihang Intelligent Control Chassis, that features dual-wishbone independent suspension, smart air springs with four adjustable modes, and a CDC dynamic damping system. Huawei supplies its Qiankun ADS 3.0 that leverages the built-in LiDAR for upgraded urban navigation capabilities, and a new collision avoidance system.

With the Avatr 07, expected to be priced between RMB 250,000 to 350,000 ($35,250 to $49,350), the company is targeting a fiercely competitive midsize SUV segment. It's ready to go head-to-head with popular models like the Tesla Model Y, BYD Sea Lion 07, and the new Zeekr 7X.
