BMW unveils M60 xDrive iX3 with 612 hp

The BMW iX3 debuted the Neue Klasse platform for BMW and it just got its most powerful version yet. After the iX3 40 with one motor, the iX3 40 xDrive and the 50 xDrive all-wheel-drive versions BMW now adds an M edition. The sporty iX3 M60 xDrive will be available in the configurator in January next year, shortly before the iX4 launches in March. Actual production, however, will likely commence sometime during spring.

The iX3 M60 xDrive shares its powertrain with the i3 M60 and iX4 M60, offering a maximum output of 450 kW or 612 hp, drawing juice from the same 108.7 kWh battery (usable, total capacity 112.3 kWh) as the iX3 50 xDrive model. That means the iX3 can now accelerate even faster, running from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The maximum allowed top speed is limited to 240 km/h.

The estimated WLTP range is 469 miles, while the DC fast charging remains the same at 400 kW, enough to charge the large battery from 10 to 80% in 21 minutes.

Of course, the M60 comes with some M-branded extras like the adaptive M Suspension, special 21-inch M-branded alloy wheels, but 22-inch ones are also available at an additional cost, black mirror caps, and new M Yellow Lights that bring a motorsport-inspired road view.
