BYD reveals interior of its global luxury SUV Denza N9
Backed by BYD, the Denza N9 is getting ready for its official debut, with global markets firmly in the company's sights. And finally we get to see its impressive interior.
Inside, the N9 feels like a high-tech sanctuary. The interior is dominated by a trio of screens: a massive 17.3-inch touchscreen in the center console, a 13.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 13.2-inch screen for the front passenger. The second row features two captain's chairs that can recline flat, a 17.1-inch ceiling-mounted screen, and folding tables.
The attention to detail is evident throughout, from the active side support in the front seats to the hidden compartment in the center console that doubles as a heated and cooled storage box. With a capacity of 11.5 liters, it's perfect for keeping drinks and snacks at the ideal temperature.
The N9 will come with two powertrains to choose from. The EREV version combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with three electric motors, delivering a combined output of 911 horsepower. It also has a 47 kWh battery pack that provides an estimated 103 miles of electric-only range.
The all-electric N9 will come with three electric motors generating a staggering 951 horsepower. The battery size is unknown at this moment, but we can expect to see a capacity of around 100 kWh.
The N9 is slightly longer than the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV. It measures 207 inches long, 79.9 inches wide, and 72 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 123 inches. The N9 rides on either 21-inch or 22-inch wheels, with either choice adding to its imposing presence.
Denza is a former joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz. The company has been making itself known in the Chinese market with its high-end electric vehicles. The N9 represents the brand's ambition to expand globally, with plans to launch in Europe next year. While pricing for the European market has yet to be announced, the N9 is expected to start above RMB 500,000 (approximately $68,950) in China.
