Geely-backed Farizon Supervan challenges Ford E-Transit Custom in the UK

Geely's commercial vehicle arm, Farizon, is set to launch its electric van, the Farizon SV, in the UK, challenging the dominance of the Ford E-Transit Custom and the Vauxhall Vivaro Electric. The Farizon SV will be offered in three body styles and two battery sizes, with a range of up to 225 miles.

The Farizon SV is built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform, with the batteries mounted under the floor of the cargo bay. This allows for a flat load floor and a generous amount of cargo space. The van will be offered in three body lengths and heights: Small at 196.46 inches long and 1.98 meters tall, Medium at 216.14 inches long and 2.18 meters tall, and Large at 234.25 inches long and 2.5 meters tall.

For comparison, the E-Transit Custom is offered in one height (77.56 inches tall) and two lengths (198.82 inches and 214.57 inches).

The Farizon SV offers a range of payload capacities from 2,425 lb to 2,866 lb, and the cargo bay's volume ranges from {{6,900 L}} to {{13,000 L}}. This makes the Farizon SV a versatile option for a variety of businesses, from delivery companies to tradesmen.

Two battery options will be available at launch, with capacities of 67 kWh and 83 kWh. The latter is claimed to give a range of 225 miles between charges. A third, 106 kWh battery pack is on the way to extend that figure.

Inside, the Farizon SV offers seating for three and two displays: a small dashboard-mounted unit for instrumentation and a larger central infotainment touchscreen. In China, the Farizon SV is also available as a seven- and nine-seat minibus, and as a camper van. It is unclear if these models will be offered in the UK.

Prices for the Farizon SV have yet to be announced, but it is expected to undercut the E-Transit Custom ($59,228, excluding VAT) and the Vivaro Electric ($68,219, including VAT). The Farizon SV will be sold by Saudi Arabia-based Jameel Motors, with deliveries starting in mid-2025.
