Great Wall Motor's 216.5 inches long luxury sedan leaks

The Great Wall Motor group (GWM) is currently China's eighth largest automaker, but it plans to grow, and of course these days that can only be achieved by launching new EVs. Or, as it seems to be customary in China these days, new EVs from new brands.

GWM is reportedly doing just that. It will introduce a new brand, for the moment codenamed ZX, which seems to be focused on extremely high-end, luxury vehicles. Its first model, portrayed in the leaked image below, will be about 216.5 inches long, which makes it longer than the Rolls-Royce Ghost and the Mercedes Maybach S-Class, but not by a lot, so it's clearly going to try and compete with those.

Not much else is known about it at the moment, unfortunately. It seems like the new brand won't be sold through GWM's existing dealers, so an online model might be adopted instead, or stores owned directly by the group.

GWM is still dominated by production and sales of ICE vehicles, but it has gradually shifted more and more of its attention towards EVs. This new brand might help propel it to the forefront of people's imaginations, especially with designs as striking as this one is. Stay tuned and we'll let you know when we find out more.
