Lotus refreshes its electric lineup with clearer choices and powerful performance

Lotus has dusted off its electric vehicle portfolio, simplifying choices for buyers of the Eletre hyper-SUV and Emeya hyper-GT. The company now highlights the power of its electric cars with new model names, "600" and "900," which directly reflect the vehicles' power output.

The Eletre and Emeya are now available in a range of trims, each with specific features. The Eletre comes in six versions: 600, 600 GT, 600 GT SE, 600 SPORT SE, 900 SPORT, and the top-tier 900 SPORT CARBON. The Emeya mirrors this structure, though the Emeya 600 is not available in Europe. This clear lineup allows buyers to easily choose between sporty or luxurious configurations.

The base Eletre 600 features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system producing 450 kilowatts (612 horsepower). It comes with a 112 kWh, 22 kW onboard charger, active air suspension, 20-inch wheels, and a high-end KEF audio system. The Emeya 600, available only in the UK, has a 102 kWh battery. Higher trims add features like highway assist, larger wheels, upgraded brakes, a glass roof, and enhanced audio. The "900" models boast a powerful 675 kilowatt (918 horsepower) dual-motor setup.

The Emeya 600 accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 4.15 seconds, while the Eletre 600 does it in 4.5 seconds. The "900" models are even quicker, with the Emeya 900 hitting 62 mph in just 2.78 seconds. The range is also impressive, with the Emeya reaching up to 379 miles and the Eletre going as far as 373 miles on a single charge. Charging is fast, with the Emeya able to charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 14 minutes using a 400 kW DC charger. The Eletre achieves the same result in 20 minutes with a 350 kW DC charger.

Lotus is marketing the driving experience as a main differentiator, highlighting the vehicles' handling, steering, and aerodynamics. Both the Eletre and Emeya feature a design concept called "porosity," which improves airflow through and around the vehicles. Interiors are luxurious, with high-quality materials, customizable lighting, and advanced infotainment systems.

Surprisingly, the refreshed Lotus lineup is getting price cuts across the board. The Eletre 600 starts at $110,950, and the Emeya 600 starts at $112,110 in the UK, and in Europe, the Emeya 600 GT starts at $119,830. The updated Eletre and Emeya models are available for order and will arrive at dealerships this summer.
