yalim, 09 Jan 2023i won't trust a smartphone branded car.this is not their expertise.safety,relaibility,dur... moreThere have been many new and successful startups whilst the legacy car makers have been slow, and aslo offered quite many duds. Compared the completely new startups, tech companies such as Xiaomi at least have experience in supply chain etc. Xiaomi makes a lot more than smartphones, to put it mildly.

The Germans (Osram) practically invented planned obsolescence and their combustion engine car industry is experts in making cars where hugely expensive parts tend to go bust short after 100K km.

At least several Chinese car manufacturers offers 40% longer warranty compared to the Germans. Same as Kia. And Kia, and it's siblings Hyundai and Genesis, keep setting the gold standard for reliability.

My oldest Xiaomi smartphone is from 2016, still running fine and in daily use. Second oldest from 2016, also running fine, but not in daily use (too small screen - 5.5"). Third oldest from 2018 and still running fine and in daily use.

For the rest yes it's true, there is a lot of negative points and most of them don't exist with termic vehicules.

kek, 08 Jan 2023Now go read how good it goes for Congo people and its lithium...You can also go look up how cobalt is used in the oil industry to remove sulfur from the crude oil. . .

In others words, the longer a combustion engine car drives, the more oil needs to be refined and the more cobalt is needed.

LFP batteries are cobalt free, btw.
