Future has no brakes according to DS Automobiles

French DS Automobiles tries to convince us all that future EVs won’t need brakes with its latest prototype DS E Tense.

It seems the DS team wanted to stir the opinions and went creative with the numbers. After all the numbers are irrelevant if you can't put that power down to the road.

I think DS is definitely hiding something.

I don&#... moreI'm sure the torque figure is "at the wheels" as you have correctly pointed it would be hard to achieve for that motor - still insane figure. To put in perspective: Tesla S Plaid managed to get 1,227Nm at the wheels when dyno tested. But please remember this is a prototype and we use data given by manufacturers or designers - in many cases highly optimistic. I mean - with 8,000Nm you'd most likely rip the thread off the tyres every time you launched hard from traffic lights... but then again this design is based on Formula E tech - I guess we'll have to wait and see :)

Please do research about differences between wheel/axle torque vs motor/engine torque. I don't think without a reduction gearset, 8000Nm of torque is attainable for ~500kw motor. Companies lie about that.
