I'm so sick of auto makers throwing in a ton of extra frills to try to justify their insane prices. I don't care about all the extra software features (I'm perfectly capable of driving a car myself), I just want the physical car to be good. Hopefully Xiaomi continues focusing on making products that do what they're supposed to, for a decent price.

That being said, I do worry that this car won't make it out of China, and even if it does, it won't be without a price hike. Political reasons aside, Xiaomi just doesn't have the physical locations to hold and perform service on vehicles. Outside of China, physical Xiaomi locations are sparse, if they are even available at all. And even if they do figure that out, with taxes and transportation costs, it's going to cost significantly more outside of China. Not to mention, in China they have to price EVs a lot cheaper if they want to compete with BYD, but outside China, they can raise margins and still be cheaper or competitive with non-Chinese EVs, so from a business standpoint, raising the price is a no-brainer.

Anyway, I look forward to Xiaomi's entrance into the EV market. They completely butchered Samsung in China. I hope they continue to disrupt industries.

As all Chinese brands, this is just to sell sell sell, once you give them your money you become nothing and customer support becomes nothing.

definitely not buying Xiaomi. They are not about building a better product here, they just copy and launch something cheaper then sell in mass.

Aston Martin from the rear and Alpine from the front ... Not a really good design imho, the Xiaomi sign is too big for my taste. Gladfully it's avoidable easily :)

Well it has a weird design to me, but I wish them good luck!
