But all the engine and gear parts of the drive train, that is part of the service for an ICE car, isn't there.
So less to service and therefore lower service costs. A win for me.

In theory there is nothing wrong with EV, in real world I would consider most of the EVs as subpar, overpriced alternatives where manufacturers are doing exactly all those mistakes you would expect out of first gen. product.
Not to mention EV mechanical service is usually abysmal, because most of the dealers have no clue how to service those vehicles.

Also the stress of planing stops and time loss charging are major downsides.

I don't think it could ever work, given how Apple itself works.

Apple is a design and software company. They design their products themselves, combine both proprietary and open-source software for them, and then outsources 100% of the manufacturing.

The last point is what people fail to realize: Apple do not have the equipment or expertise to even manufacture the cardboard box your device is packaged in.'

How much effort do you think it takes to design and write software for an iPhone, and then arranging manufacturing of every single little piece inside it to other companies?

Now imagine doing the same for an entire electrical vehicle.

Apple's mode of operation simply cannot scale up to this level.

Apple's plan never made any sense. Apple loves to control the supply chain and squeeze small supplier. No one in the automotive space is a small supplier. And Apple is never any good with engineering problems, just look at iPhone's overheating problem

It would be very difficult to catch them up, if possible at all. Apple simply doesn't have most of technology - batteries, metals, motors etc etc.

It's so much fun reading bad copes in here since their beloved Apple totally lost it. You guys would be singing a different tune if ever they managed to launch one.

We don't need cars anymore.

What they really mean is Apple doesn't want to get clapped.

Releasing an EV is not just about making the car; they also have to manufacture and release spare parts, then they need to make the infrastructure, such as dedicated car charging stations (because you know Apple will come up with some proprietary nonsense instead of using standard NACS or CCS).

Those massive profit margins in electronics simply don't exist in EV cars. Totally different market. Sales of expensive EV's, specifically in the US are softening. It would be a low volume, expensive endeavor for Apple to continue.

If Steve Jobs was around, they would release the car even if it would bankrupt the company. Apple is not the same anymore.

Good.

It would be as bad as Ford Focus, but priced as Bugatti Chiron

They probably thinking in this era, we should be flying cars instead of driving EVs.

AI is just a fad like 3D, VR, etc and also like voice assistants (Siri) which aren’t something trendy anymore. A futuristic car is something that could actually have longevity as an Apple product.
