Tesla's revived referral program offers a $1,000 discount to new buyers and up to $5,000 in credits per year for referrers, incentivizing both parties and driving demand for its electric vehicles.

Beware of Tesla referral programs. The referral process is intentionally tricky and easily dropped with no recovery procedure. It was embarrassing after asking for a friend's referral code and then distasteful that the process failed without any indication. Tesla staff have been directed not to retroactively add a referral code leaving a negative feeling at time of purchase. Elon may want to respect customers instead of gaming customers. One will feel like, "I got ripped."
