23 December 2024
No one wants an expensive tiny FIAT, who could have predicted?

Popeye, 24 Dec 2024I think the vast majority of private car buyers can't afford to buy an EV. There's a... moreCompany car ownership you mean.
And there you have gotten very warm to the crux of the issue of what "stimulates" our modern economies by literally availing of free money, tax incentives, tax write offs on depreciation, tax free company fuel cards, etc etc etc

But hey when they're buying big German diesels on the cheap we never hear anyone crying other than those pointing out the incentivisation of burning this earth to a crisp for profit.

Finn, 24 Dec 2024Someone in Fiat is really stupid. Slash 500 price by 30% and it will sell like a hot cakesPerhaps they shouldn't built the 500e along side Maseratis and think they'll be cross shopped by the same affluent buyers.

Perhaps FIAT should've built the 500e in eastern Europe like all the other 500s, Pandas and 126es before it.
Perhaps Stellantis could do with a small dose of competence and diversified their sole EV platform offering a Panda or 500 Giardinia estate, but noo.... Instead Fiat hosts 3 entirely different EV platforms (2025 Panda, 600e and the PSA vans). The platforms may be shared across the umbrella corporation but to have such a mismatch and inability to share parts and resources that billions were poured into each is truly wasteful.

Nobody finds it odd that a Fiat 500 shares the same factory as Maseratis in a city as expensive as Turin? But noo, way more pc to blame EVs full stop without an once of applied critical thought

Anonymous, 24 Dec 2024This car needs to be longer like BYD Seagull to sell. Also too expensive. Fiat should upgrade ... moreYou might notice it's Fiat 500, it's never been a good car, let alone a good value - it's a "design", "stylish" product.

There is no saving the planet by using EVs, that's just nonsense for the naive sheep.

This car needs to be longer like BYD Seagull to sell. Also too expensive. Fiat should upgrade to 800v with gigacasting to make cheaper, regular size 500 ev

climate change is just some made up story.
buy an ev for price, price to charge, tech.
when war hits the pacific, an ev powered by coal will keep the economy running.

I think the vast majority of private car buyers can't afford to buy an EV. There's also a big problem with the range per charge for cheaper EVs. Saving the planet is the preserve of the wealthy. Those of us who earn average, or below average wages, haven't got wads of cash sloshing around.
