You can have even fastest car in the world there are plenty which goes over 400km per hour but apart few places on earth you have no chance to go that fast unless you want big fine bill loose your driving license forewer and get jailed for several years.

Soaron, 03 Jul 2022This applies to any car capable of going faster than 80 mph. And, S Plaid reached 216 mph in 2... moreRather not to try. Those EV cars cost a fortune especialy for salary like here in Slovakia where most people earns between 600-900 euros per month from which 40-60% goes to bills.

connta, 03 Jul 2022In Germany and Italy there are sections that are unlimited on speed. That aint much and for how long.
Here in Slovakia if we add unlimited speed on roads your car will be good to service centre every 100 kilometers.
Our roads looks worse than those in Ukrain when Russian military army and heavy tanks crossed the borders.

That can't be the ... moreI had to do a double take but according to the source they did use 6,000 ft (1,828 meters) to slow it down and stop - it wasn't a braking distance only, they slowed it down first and at 216mph you are traveling 97 meters per second - that's 318 feet. It would take the car just 18 seconds to travel 6,000 feet. 18 seconds is not a lot of time to stop the car from that speed. When you double your speed your braking distance goes up 4 times due to not only speed but the kinetic energy of the car. 6,000 feet sounds a lot but when you're hauling at 200 mph it feels like 600...

6000 feet is the length of 4.5 times the size of a typical drag strip. That can't be the appropriate number for how long it took for the vehicle to stop. That would literally be over a mile.

CptPower, 01 Jul 2022216 miles per hour is awesome problem is there is no country and roads to use it on. This applies to any car capable of going faster than 80 mph. And, S Plaid reached 216 mph in 26 seconds so a few seconds of pedal to the metal is enough for a wild ride.

Possible tail wind? Didn't hear anything about that being a possibility, I hope not but it could certainly be how it was possible.
