Frankly I bought an EV long ago for the environment (and other reasons) but I would never buy a Tesla (for the reasons stated in the article, right or wrong).

As was the increase in Tesla stock price immediately after the US election, and the subsequent decline this year. None of it's about Tesla's products or plans, it's all about the extent to which investors think that Musk's associations are good for the company's prospects and his other activities make him a liability.
