Looks much shorter than 5 ft. If it's 5 ft, then 1 ft is all it needs.

MartyKinn, 01 May 2025The bed needs to be 2.5 ft longerMakes no sense. A 5' bed is more than enough for what this is marketing towards. The Maverick only has a 4.5' bed. This is not a big work truck.

The bed needs to be 2.5 ft longer

LOVING the minimal approach!! I actually dont need 60% of the features that modern cars offer.
Keepin it simple for what a car is made for, DRIVING and CARRYING things! Brilliant idea!!
I'd love to see this vehicle in Europe with V2H capabilities!
Great strategy and design from Slate!!

It clearly has some flaws. Good to see people experimenting with fresh new approach for EVs. Hope they succeed and improve. Its a better attempt at making EV than Toyota, Ford, GM etc. who just fit electric motor and battery in a ICE car.

They have reinvented the Land Rover Defender but with a plastic body. The efficiency of the powertrain seems mediocre. And in Europe this proposition doesn't stand a chance, it's very expensive for what it is.
