Infotainment system is a source of revenue. Cars are computer desk setups on wheels nowadays, so they don't want to give it up, they want to nickel and dime customers instead.

If customers demand it though, they will need to add it back. I would like Apple CarPlay Ultra or an Android alternative.

Good, just waiting for these car systems to be forced into open source so people can repair and replace the electronics themselves. So buying into another closed system is just stupid. Even more so one from apple.
