Ford goes back to the drawing board with the new $30,000 electric truck

Ford's upcoming $30,000 electric truck uses clever engineering and a new UEV platform to bring affordable, high-tech driving to the masses by 2027.

That is a bit surprising as the more recent news concerning Ford suggested they will drop electrification entirely. Instead focusing on what they do best. Trucks built in the US for the US with strong IC engines.

For the european markets they seem to be working together with Renault to build cars in the B-segment. Moreover upcoming agreements with Geely to utilize unused factory lines in Spain or Germany.

It is good to hear that they still didn't give up on developing their own electric car. And yet, it's rather late and will primarily focus on the US at first. Let's hope they will manage to turn things around. It would be a shame to see Ford disappear.

Ford thinks EV buyers don't know anything about EV tech. Buyers know exactly how outdated and overpriced ford EVs are. Please don't push 400V junk as tech revolution when market is at 1000V

Cheaper battery? Use sodium battery not LFP. 800V might cost more to build, but its future proof (current tech is 1000V) and faster charging. 400V slow charging truck wont sell, especially not with a $30k price tag, that's not cheap. Slate EV is cheaper with same specs
