Hyundai has officially unveiled the standard version of its upcoming Ioniq 3 electric hatchback - it has a comfort-oriented cabin, smart infotainment, and a driving range of up to {{496 km}}.

Vehicles with sloping roof lines just automatically get excluded from consideration. It is a strong indication that passenger space was excessively compromised by some brand manager with neither friends nor family.

So I have been really annoyed at Hyundai when they ditched the 38kwh ioniq and didn't replace it forcing people like me with a limited budget and limited parking space to go to other manufacturers. It's nice to see something close to a replacement but why they feel they have to use colour to emphasise the low roofline in the rear defeats me, it looks a lot smaller than it is. I'm looking forward to seeing the full specification and lease pricing for when it's time to hand back my current EV, this would definitely be in the long list, whether it makes it to the shortlist is dependent on those things.
