Global electric vehicle sales reached 1.85 million units in July 2026, driven by massive growth in Europe, surging Chinese exports, and despite a sharp pull-back in North America.

This is a classic case of lying with numbers. The U.S. incentives ended in Sept ‘25. This was widely known by EV purchasers who flooded the market in the quarter leading to the end of incentives. This makes US numbers look worse that they are.
