Tesla's checkbook ends Sweden’s longest strike

15 August 2026
Tesla has ended Sweden's historic 1,021-day labor strike without signing a collective agreement, outlasting the union by systematically buying out every striking technician on the picket line.

I will never buy a Tesla car for that. Even if the price is better than the competition. This fascist behaviour has no place in Europe.

It's about time IG Metal used nefarious skullduggary to try to force happy well paid Tesla employees to join their aggressive antagonistic rhetoric spouting phony brothership.
Many years ago, I was forced to join a union I did not agree with. I went to their union meetings and listened to the leaders spout pure Marxist indoctrinated lies. They eventually forced that large corporation into bankruptcy and out of existence. The good jobs in our community were list and went elsewhere.
Then those same crazy union guys went into politics and took over the city council. The city became corrupt, with super high consultant fees paid to connected individuals. Taxes rose, crime flourished, and many former union workers became homeless on the street. These morons do not know how to build or create , only how to blackmail, stonewall and strangle an economy.

The wealth of the Scandinavian countries is built on the balance between workers and employers demands. To bad an agreement could not be found that was to the benefit of both parties, and the the whole economy. Tesla makes fine cars, but I hope Tesla gets banned in the EU, until they get rid of their facist CEO.

If the workers got a payout to break ranks then I see this as a victory by the union as the workers got more than they had.

whats the point of trade union for something you dont even own.
unless these swedish mechanics were building/fixing teslas from the molecular level.
they're just servants of tesla.
they have the option of not working for tesla and starting their own car company.

  • pfffff

I hope this is the beginning of the end for trade unions dictatorship in Sweden, Scandinavia and eventually - whole Europe. They should be banned for market/economy distortion, accelerating inflation, etc.

This is so funny.
Union leadership has to be pissed off because they received nothing.
