VW introduces future of long-distance autonomous travel - Gen.Travel

23 September 2022
With no steering wheel, flat-folding seats for a comfortable sleep VW wants us to believe this is how we will travel no later than by 2040. This is not a CGI exercise - it is a fully functioning working prototype that comes with Level 5 ADAS.

Instead of steering the wheel, you buy loot boxes on the road.

This most likely is just a design concept and will not materialize in any forceable future.
VW is really not great when it comes to getting really interesting cars on the road, or having a working infotainment for that measure. When they can't even implement their own OS or Car Play integration properly, is it really a good idea to try self-driving?

😂 another thing is how will this autonomous driving affect racing games? Sure it's not a must for them to be added into these games but let's say they did add one, how would the game play be?

I get that EV's are here to help the ecosystem and all but them being autonomous might prove a bigger threat than gas powered vehicles, there's alot of stuff computers can do but anything can happen and the reaction speed and decision making of these machines are still a long way from just having a regular driver. Plus they are also kinda taking away jobs and there is still a possibility of hackers getting into the cars system. Let's see how it goes.
