Yeah Vegas was and still is one of the most intuitive entries to NLE but it hardly had anything to do with Sony other than Sony Creative Software being the parent of Sonic Foundry that did Sound Forge and Vegas.

Depending on the application software people that work for Sony are all around the world. Xperia android apps such as Phone, Calendar, Messages, Notes, Sketch, Scan 3D etc were all top notch but they had nothing to do with Sony Japan, they were all outsourced from Scandinavians who outsourced other eastern European developers.

Their Sony OS for Walkman based on Linux came straight out of Japan and it is really good operating system. To this day it works better than Android on their new Walkmans. Its more intuitive, its faster, battery lasts longer but it lacks streaming apps. Lack of streaming apps is why they switched to Android.

Their BRAVIA OS worked hell a lot better than Android TV at the time. It didn't lag like first Android TV did.

And then there is Playstation.

But hopefully Sony will be kept in a sensor department, and aren't they even producing batteries? That could be more interesting ... and stable ... than their software.
