Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD launched in China with 830 km CLTC range
Tesla has just launched the long-awaited Long Range RWD version of the Model 3 in China with a price tag of RMB 269,500, which is the equivalent of just under $38,000. The advertised range is 516 miles as per the CLTC rating, which is more optimistic than WLTP.

Still, the new Model 3 LR RWD sets a new brand record as the longest-range vehicle in the company's portfolio. Additionally, the Performance AWD configuration also gets a slight improvement in range, now 402 miles from 387 miles.
The rear axle is now powered by a 3D6 motor with 225 kW, while the LFP CATL batteries are swapped out for LG's NCM cells with 78.4 kWh capacity. The new battery now supports 250 kW fast DC charging.
Tesla claims the range improvements come from improved energy density and thermal management. The vehicle is available for order, but shipments start in September.
In addition to the new Model 3 configuration, Tesla has launched a free FSD transfer in China, so people getting a new Tesla can now transfer their FSD package at no additional cost.
