Take a look at the spaceship-inspired interior of BYD's third-generation Tang SUV
Back in August at the Chengdu Auto Show, BYD first showed the upcoming third-generation Tang SUV, and today the brand has decided to unveil its interior.
The five-seat SUV is scheduled to launch in China before the end of this year, joining the Great Tang (Da Tang) in its roster to create a dual-flagship SUV lineup in the Dynasty series.
According to Lu Tian, BYD's general manager for the Dynasty series, the new Tang's interior design is inspired by spaceship control consoles in sci-fi movies.
The car has a 30-inch panoramic screen as well as a 35.4-inch integrated far-side display which replaces the instrument cluster and head-up display.
Color-wise, you can pick between two finishes for the new Tang's interior: Dune Beige and Amber Brown. Second-row legroom is over 39 inches and the seats offer a maximum recline angle of 130 degrees.
The car is 198.6 inches long, 78 inches wide, 69.3 inches tall, and has a 116.1 inches wheelbase. It uses BYD's second-generation Blade battery with support for flash charging, which goes from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes, and up to 97% in 9 minutes under normal temperature conditions. It will have a CLTC range of up to 528 miles.
