Redesigned Tesla Model 3 spotted in camo, vertical taillights confirmed

Ivan, 21 June 2023

The facelifted Tesla Model 3, also known as Project Highland, was once again spotted testing on public roads in camo gear. The image by Ranjit Bhaskar shows the redesigned taillights.

Looking closely, you can see that the LED indicator lights run vertically, instead of horizontally as on the current car. At this point, we can accept vertical LEDs as seemingly confirmed. The Model Y, X and S also have horizontal LED lights, maybe Tesla will shift all of its cars to vertical ones?

Here's a look at a comparison between the taillight in the spy shot and one from a render of what the redesigned Model 3 could look like by @CYBRTRK420.

The car also appears to feature an additional rear diffuser, hinting that this is a Performance model and not your run-of-the-mill Long Range.

We know from the various leaks that the Model 3 will have redesigned head and taillights, as well as side-mounted cameras for Hardware 4.0's Full Self-Driving feature.
