Rivian R1T Dual Motor Large Pack gets 352 miles of EPA range

Rivian's new Dual Motor (DM) Large Pack versions of the R1T pickup truck entered production back in May, and now they have received their EPA ratings for a combined cycle. They are, perhaps unsurprisingly, outperforming the Quad Motor (QM) variants in range.

With 21" wheels, the R1T DM AWD version with 533 hp and 610 lb-ft of torque gets 352 miles, while on 22" wheels that drops to 341 miles. The R1T Performance DM AWD with 665 hp and 829 lb-ft of torque gets the exact same EPA ratings as well. The numbers for the trucks tested with the entry-level 20" wheels aren't available yet, but expect them to be even better than what was achieved on 21" rims.

Compared to Rivian's original estimates, the R1T DM got 2 miles more with 21" wheels and 21 miles more on each charge on 22" wheels. It might also be interesting to compare these numbers to those of the R1T QM with a large battery. It managed 328 miles on 21" wheels and 303 miles on 22" wheels. So clearly, if you don't need the 835 hp and 908 lb-ft of torque that provides and can live with the DM's still very impressive numbers, you are getting a rather significant chunk of extra range in return.
