Chinese BMW i5 debuts with longer wheelbase

The titan in the world of premium cars is getting an upgrade, and this time, it's not just any upgrade. BMW i5 has only just been unveiled to the world, and it is already getting a makeover. Only available in China - the long wheelbase i5 is almost stepping on the toes of its bigger sibling, the i7.

The Chinese automotive market is a huge playground for luxury car brands, and BMW has decided to roll out its red carpet here. In its newest form, the latest BMW 5 Series sedan looks like it's been to the gym and yoga class at the same time – it's stretching out a bit. An extended wheelbase ensures more room at the back, giving the rear passengers the royal treatment.

The Chinese BMW i5's design is aiming to win the hearts of the younger generation in China, the company says. We are not so sure the number "5" lighting up on the C-pillar will be everyone's cup of tea, but then again we fall outside the target audience so what do we know.

The Chinese BMW i5 comes with the 31.3" 8K Theatre Screen at the back, and the car has native 5G connectivity. So, your car ride could essentially be a Netflix movie theater paired with the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System.

Will it ever make it out of China? Seems unlikely seeing how BMW phrased its announcement, but in the current rapidly changing market anything can always happen.
