Tesla launches its FSD ride-along program in the Netherlands

Tesla announced its expansion of the FSD ride-along program in the Netherlands, following the positive reception and success in other European countries. In November last year, the company kick-started the FSD ride-alongs in Germany, France and Italy.

The ride-alongs allow consumers and authorities to experience Tesla's Full Self-Driving feature in real-world traffic conditions with a staff member in the driver's seat.

The ride-alongs in the Netherlands will begin on February 16 and will continue through March 31. People living in Groningen, Zwolle (Wezep), Arnhem (Duiven), Amsterdam, Utrecht, Den Haag, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, and Tilburg will be the first to experience the advanced self-driving system, with Purmerend to follow on March 16.

Tesla is still trying to secure the EU's approval and enable FSD on European Teslas, and the FSD (Supervised) ride-along is a strategy that could help regulators gain faith in Tesla's ADAS.

Tesla isn't alone in this. The EU is still evaluating advanced driver-assistance frameworks. Tesla, of course, wants to be the first to secure the EU's approval, but the regulatory clearance remains uncertain at this time.
