The electric Porsche Macan GTS is here
Electric cars are fast. We get it. A battery and a motor make for instant acceleration. But are they fun? Do they have a personality, or are they just quiet appliances? Porsche is confident it has the answer.
The letters GTS at Porsche mean "Gran Turismo Sport," a special badge saved for cars built specifically for driving enjoyment. And now Porsche has put that famous three-letter badge on its new electric SUV, the Porsche Macan GTS. This is the fifth version of the Macan lineup, and it might be the one true drivers were waiting for.
Any GTS starts with power, but it certainly doesn't end there. The Macan GTS uses two powerful electric motors, one on the front axle and one on the rear, giving it all-wheel drive. In normal driving, they produce a combined 380 kW (516 PS). But the car comes standard with Launch Control, which unlocks an "overboost" mode. Stomp on the accelerator, and the power jumps to 420 kW (571 PS). The torque is even more impressive at 704 lb-ft.
All that power means this family-sized EV moves with sports car speed. It launches from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.8 seconds. It hits 124 mph in 13.3 seconds and will keep going to a top speed of 155 mph. The large 100 kWh battery provides a WLTP-estimated range of up to 364 miles, and thanks to its 800 V architecture, it also charges quickly. At a 270 kW DC charger, the battery can jump from 10 to 80 percent in only 21 minutes.
Since this is a real GTS, Porsche re-engineered the chassis for control. The Macan GTS sits 0.39 inches lower than its siblings on a standard sports air suspension. The standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) features new tuning for the dampers and anti-roll bars to keep the car flat and stable.
The SUV has the lowest center of gravity in the Macan family and a rear-biased weight distribution of 48:52, which helps it feel agile. Standard equipment also includes Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), an electronically controlled differential on the rear axle that helps pull the car sharply around corners. For even quicker turn-in, buyers can add optional rear-axle steering.
When it comes to the looks, Porsche follows the long-standing GTS tradition here - that means a lot of black details. The Macan GTS gets tinted Matrix LED headlights and comes standard with the new Sport Design Package. This package adds an aggressive front bumper, new side skirts, and a bold rear diffuser.
The inserts, side blades, wheel arch trims, and the lip of the rear spoiler are all finished in black. The theme continues with tinted taillights and standard 21-inch Macan Design wheels painted in a dark Anthracite Grey, with larger 22-inch RS Spyder wheels available as an option.
The sporty feel continues inside the cabin. The standard adaptive 18-way sports seats are covered in a mix of smooth black leather and Race-Tex. Race-Tex is a high-quality, grippy microfiber material that Porsche also uses on the heated GT Sports steering wheel, armrests, and door panels.
For the first time, an optional GTS Interior Package is available in Carmine Red, Slate Grey Neo, or Lugano Blue, adding matching colorful stitching to the seats, dashboard, and steering wheel, and even colors the seat belts and the "GTS" logos stitched into the headrests. This option also includes carbon-fiber trim throughout the interior.
Since electric cars are naturally quiet, the GTS comes with Porsche Electric Sport Sound (PESS). This system provides two unique, GTS-specific sound profiles for the "Sport" and "Sport Plus" driving modes. The car also gets the latest Macan updates, including a new AI-supported Voice Pilot, new parking assistance functions, and an increased maximum towing capacity of 5,512 lb.
For the record, the new body measures 189.2 inches long and {{1,952 mm wide}}. New colors, including the return of Crayon and the new Carmine Red and Lugano Blue, join a list of nearly 60 "Paint to Sample" options for those who want a truly unique machine. Starting from $105,850 (including delivery), the 2026 Macan GTS is already available to order.
