Volkswagen teases a GTX version of its ID.7 sedan

During this year's IAA Mobility forum in Munich, Germany, Volkswagen previewed the GTX version of its recently released ID.7 all-electric sedan. As the name suggests, this is going to be a performance-oriented version of the sedan with all-wheel drive.

Volkswagen also claims that it's going to be a "long-distance limousine", so it's going to be the best of both worlds. Currently, the top Pro S trim offers a 86kWh battery so presumably, the GTX variant will pack a bigger battery than this to earn its "long-distance limousine" badge.

Design-wise, the GTX won't be much different from the standard versions, but the company did share a collage of three images showing the headlights, taillights and side mirrors. Red will likely be the hero color with black accents, including the rooftop. The interior will feature red-accented stitches too.

The company describes the car as the flagship model in the ID series, suggesting that this will be the fastest and most expensive vehicle in the family.

Sadly, VW didn't detail specs and pricing but said that the ID.7 GTX will go on sale next year in the US with a proper announcement held sometime in September.
