Xiaomi SU7 Ultra will have a two-seat version too

Xiaomi is expected to fully launch the SU7 Ultra performance car later this month alongside the 15 Ultra smartphone. The SU7 Ultra was first presented in October, which is also when pre-orders started.

Ahead of the full launch and the start of deliveries, Xiaomi has now submitted a new version of the car for certification by the Chinese authorities, and this one has just two seats.

It's unclear how the interior will be modified for the two-seat version, as all we get is a change in one number on a spec list, but this will be intriguing to see for sure.

The five-seater option is still coming, of course, we just assume that those who'd want to eke out every last bit of performance from the car might decide the backseat is just useless added weight, and thus get rid of it - but you won't have to do that yourself as Xiaomi will apparently offer such an option up itself.

It's pointless to have such a big car with 2 seats (even if there are only 2 doors) to begin with. 2 doors/2 seats should explicitly be for cars that are: 1. Either pure performance cars that actually need weight/size reduction, such ...

it takes sense if you remove 2 doors (economy and better access with larger doors)

how ridiculous to have 2 seats in a 4dr sedan. How about make a convertible and a truck bed?
