Xiaomi Vision GT spotted in Spain

Days before the 2026 Mobile World Congress (MWC) kicks off in Barcelona, spy photographers captured images of a wild, low-slung machine. This isn't just another commuter car. We believe this is the Xiaomi Vision GT, a high-performance concept designed for the virtual racetracks of the Gran Turismo video game series.

The new Xiaomi concept car features a body that sits incredibly low to the ground and is very wide, and it sports a massive rear spoiler made of carbon fiber. The wheels are hard to miss because they have "Xiaomi" written right on them. The design focuses entirely on aerodynamics - the car is shaped to slice through the air with as little resistance as possible.

The project is part of a special partnership with Sony PlayStation. Seeing the car in the flesh in Spain confirms that the wait for this digital racer is almost over.

To understand why this concept matters, you have to look at what Xiaomi has already done on real tracks. The company proved that its EVs are not just for show. In June 2025, Vincent Radermecker took a production version of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra to the Nürburgring track in Germany, and completed a full lap in 7 minutes and 4.957 seconds. That time made it the fastest production electric car to ever lap that circuit. Before that, a prototype version of the car went even faster, clocking in at 6 minutes and 46.874 seconds.

The specs for the real-world SU7 Ultra are quite something. The car produces 1,548 horsepower, and it can go from 0 to 62 mph in just 1.98 seconds - faster than many multi-million dollar supercars. If you wanted to buy one of these when they launched in February 2025, the price tag started at RMB 529,900 - that is about £56,240.

The upcoming MWC event in Barcelona runs from March 2 to March 5. This is where Xiaomi will likely pull the silk sheet off the Vision GT concept car for the first time, with the Fira Gran Via exhibition center being the stage for this reveal. You might not be able to drive this specific wide-body monster on the actual road, but you will be able to "drive" it on your gaming console very soon.

Some people might roll their eyes at a car that only exists in a video game, but for Xiaomi, this is serious business. It shows they have the imagination to compete with the best in the industry. The spy shots from Spain suggest that the car is finished and ready for its close-up. As electric cars continue to take over the market, branding is everything.
