Apple and Aston Martin announce CarPlay Ultra - a next-generation infotainment system

Apple is finally rolling out its next-generation infotainment system - CarPlay Ultra. The software was announced in December 2023 and was supposed to launch last year, but it got delayed. Aston Martin will be piloting the CarPlay Ultra rollout and the two companies released a short teaser on YouTube showcasing some of the features.
As promised, CarPlay Ultra offers much deeper integration with the vehicle's system. The video trailer shows that it can customize not just the infotainment screen, but the instrument cluster display too. The iPhone powers different styles and widgets.
CarPlay Ultra also takes full control of the vehicle's features like audio, climate control and shows not just information from the iPhone but info regarding ADAS and tire pressure.
According to Apple, Kia, Hyundai, Porsche and Genesis are also working on integrating CarPlay on some of their cars, although there's no information on when that will happen.
Until then, only owners of select Aston Martin models can enjoy the new CarPlay Ultra.
