BMW teases the iX2 in a short video
On its official Instagram account, BMW teased its upcoming crossover, which should span the X2 ICE model and the iX2 EV. The company confirmed that it's working on a fully-electric iX2 SUV earlier this year, so it makes sense for the company to announce the duo very soon.
The teaser itself shows the vehicle rotating and reveals the profile and much of the front appearance. The iX2 will likely adopt a grille that's similar to the X6, but with slightly different proportions and C-shaped daytime running lights.
Information about the two models is rather scarce, though. We know that the X2 will use BMW's FAAR platform for gas-powered vehicles, but the drivetrain of the all-electric iX2 remains a mystery. BMW has confirmed, however, that the iX2 will be assembled in Germany alongside the iX1.
