Honda teases e:Ny1 Prototype, an all-electric B-segment SUV arriving in 2023
Today Honda's European arm announced that 2023 will be a very exciting year for fans of the brand who love EVs. That's because the company will release a new all-electric B-segment SUV, which it previewed today as the e:Ny1 Prototype. Hopefully the name of the finished product won't be e:Ny1, although we wouldn't be surprised if it was, since weird EV names are kind of a thing, for whatever reason.
Anyway, the company released the images you can see above and below, showcasing the e:Ny1 from a few angles. However, there aren't really any spec details to speak of at the moment - presumably those will come later at the unveiling of the not-Prototype version of the car.
When it lands next year, the e:Ny1 will be "at the centre of Honda's future product lineup", "offering the unique blend of dynamics, technology, and design that Honda is known for", the company boasts. It will be aimed at families looking for their first EV, and obviously Honda thinks they will love its compact SUV.
Honda wants to be carbon neutral across all its products by 2050, and will cease ICE vehicle sales by 2040. It plans to increase the proportion of EV and fuel cell vehicle (FCV) sales ratio in Europe to 40% by 2030, and 80% by 2035.
