Kia EV4 production set to start in March 2025

Vlad, 27 June 2024

According to a new report out of its home of Korea, Kia will start production of its first electric sedan, the EV4, in March of 2025. The company wants to make 70,000 units throughout next year at its domestic plant.

The source claims it will have a "reasonable price" and, alongside the EV3, is intended to break through the temporary stagnation in demand for EVs.

The first prototype EV4 was made last month, and with that testing commenced on both Korean and international roads. We have in fact seen prototypes not once, but twice so far already - though, unsurprisingly, they were hidden in camo.

Following more testing throughout this year, the model will be finalized in February 2025, ahead of the production start in March. Kia is currently examining whether to make the EV4 at overseas plants as well.

The EV4 was first unveiled as a concept back in October of last year, and this January we heard it would be delayed until 2025. This new report now confirms this. The EV4 uses the Hyundai-Kia E-GMP platform, and it's expected to be priced a little bit above the EV3.
